The Allhammers are of the Eight Houses, being an order dedicated to serving and carrying out the intent (as they perceive it) of the Coppersmith. To that end, the majority of the Allhammers travel Rhusagos as monster hunters and peacekeepers, being well-trained in combat, monster lore, and outdoorsmanship.
As a symbol of their covenant with the Coppersmith, every Allhammer carries on their person (typically around their neck) a copper pendant in the shape of an anvil. It is said these anvils never rust, and that they begin to burn if their bearer does anything dishonorable or of evil intent.
The order is based in the city Summarch out of the Winehall, their headquarters.
Governance
From the Winehall, the Allhammers are governed by a council consisting of an elected Grandmaster and his two appointed advisors, the Steward and the Marshal. It is tradition that, in the event of a Grandmaster’s death, his two advisors become the main candidates for the office.
The current Grandmaster of the Allhammers is Rennick. His Steward is Shiv, and his Marshal is a Dwarf named Finch.
History
Prior to the Return of the Kembar, the Grandmaster of the Allhammers was Hagar. He was murdered in 1374 A.B. by an unknown assassin later identified as the Hooded Man. Therefore every Allhammer wandering abroad was summoned to the Winehall in order to elect a new leader.
At the same time, two Allhammers—Frösted Flækes and Guantanamo Michael—were sent to speak with Selwin, the lord of Summarch, to investigate the murder. There they were arrested, and Selwin afterward claimed that the two assaulted him and his men.
The debate over who would be elevated to the rank of Grandmaster was thus chiefly about how the matter of the arrests would be handled. The Steward Cresadoc argued that a more patient road should be taken, while Rennick, who held the title of Marshal, pushed for immediate action. At first, sentiment supported Cresadoc, but the tide shifted when Babar Ett-Clan spoke in favor of the Marshal. Rennick was elected that night.
Taking advantage of already-present unrest within the city, Rennick incited a revolt against Selwin, its ruler. Some of the Allhammers were placed in positions of leadership within this rebellion, but most protested.
Siege of the Seat
The rebellion concluded at the Siege of the Seat. Seizing Selwin, Rennick slew him and usurped his titles, proclaiming himself the King of Westerland and demanding the loyalty of the band of Allhammers present in the room.
Initially the party intended on doing battle with him, hoping to stop his tyranny before it began. However, those plans were swiftly ended when Rennick revealed to them the Return of the Kembar, merging his spirit with the Coppersmith. He implored them to join with him once more, explaining his view that the only way to eliminate the threat of evil was to control it, instead of fighting it off forever.
Hearing this, Shiv Mathor, a member of the party, openly declared for Rennick and walked to his side. But the remainder of the company, unable to put aside their convictions, but unable also to overcome Rennick’s new power, chose to flee Summarch. Upon their expulsion from the order, their pendants cracked apart and rusted green and black.
Following the Siege of the Seat, those Allhammers who refused loyalty to Rennick were subsequently purged. Some were executed, others imprisoned, and many disappeared without record. The order itself was reorganized into the service of the new King, abandoning much of its former independence. Following Cresadoc’s death, Shiv was elevated to the rank of Steward and became one of Rennick’s chief lieutenants.
