An example of text written in the Gindas

The Gindas (Classical Paternic for “characters”) was the writing system of the Patrin Empire. It was used so extensively that it has since become the most widely used writing system in the Wide World.

The Gindas uses a combination of logographic glyphs (also called the Gindas), the alphabetic Preth, which themselves are modified Gindas characters, and diacritical marks which convey grammatical information. Almost all written Paternic sentences use a mixture of these three components.

The script is most commonly written from left-to-right or from top-to-bottom.
