Phagal is a large island that stands in the midst of the Great Chasmous and Samael Seas. The coastal lowlands are dominated by oak forests and woodlands, though it grows more montane deeper in the interior. It’s known for its pearls, which can be found in the surrounding shallows.
After their departure from Pārāgōl, the Patrin people first landed on Phagal, and on it they founded the city Aegban, the Place of Repair. There they mended their ships. From there they scattered, founding new cities all along the lands of the south, which would soon become the realm of Patrinor.
Etymology
Phagal is the masdar form of pepheg, phag (“find, discover”), a Paternic verb. It means “the Discovery”.
