Context and Cover
The session began with the party traveling on the Tamarnīn, an oared ship captained by Captain Lahar, toward Patrinor. To ensure a quiet crossing, they adopted a cover story: Leon Mallister was a noble fleeing retribution, with the rest of the party acting as his retainers and bodyguards. The group included Frösted Flækes, Guantanamo Michael, Babar Ett-Clan, and Aderyn Sly.
Onboard Activities
- Guantanamo spent the early part of the day studying an enchanted cloak he’d recovered in the Far North
- Frösted impressed the sailors with an invisibility potion, which led them to chant “guthrūk” (meaning “wizard”). Guantanamo then, in secret, wove sabotaging spells onto Frösted’s supplies out of spite.
- Leon played melancholy music with his lute at the prow of the ship.
- Babar sketched creatures into a notebook describing foes he’d faced in Rhusagos.
- Aderyn pored over charts and maps beside the captain.
The party also met the woman El, a stocky builder who had joined the crew to work in exchange for travel to the city Epēshu. Aderyn became suspicious of El and searched her belongings while she was distracted by an eclipse. He discovered a note describing a Trogmunder advisor in Epēshu, their ultimate destination, though he found nothing explicitly confirming she was a spy.
Epilogue
The session concluded in a military encampment outside Sepos, where Rennick was preparing to seize ships for his war effort. Shiv Mathor, resting in his quarters, was visited by a mysterious, finely dressed man who called himself Laegos, saying their meeting was an “introductory interview”.
