TypeRiver

Tungril is broadest and fullest of all rivers in the Wide World, and it is thought it might be longer than even Lash. It marks the western boundary between Patrinor and the Far South up to its sources in the Far Mountains, making a total run of about 1300–1400 miles.

Ion Ephel, a colony of the Patrin Empire, was established by the river’s mouth, which feeds into the White Sea at the northern edge of Ponbar.

Etymology

Tungril is Classical Paternic for “Southflood”, from et (“south”) and negril (“great river, flood”).
