People and History

InhabitantsUnknown, if any

Mārosh Ephel, which translates as the Far Mountains, is the longest mountain range known to the Children. It runs east-west and forms the chief part of the conventional boundary between Patrinor and the Far South. The river Tungril, which marks the western half of the Far South’s border, has all its sources in the Far Mountains.

Cloud forests cover many of its slopes, and it has a few volcanoes, most notably about the Horned Pass.

Etymology

Mārosh Ephel is comprised of the noun mārosh (“mountain range”) and the adjective ephil (“far, distant, remote”).
