Khōrgos (or Eamark) is the name for the land that lies in central Rhusagos, specifically between the Sea of Regimen and the Mountain Wall.
Description
The region draws its name from the three rivers for which it is known: Swanwater, Fenny, and Smolt, which are the chief tributaries of Great Rōdzīr. It includes also the Ettinswood and the Darkholt, two dreaded woods. Many among the Younger Children dwell there.
North of Khōrgos is the Corpse-Land (P. Agos Bahīn) and after that the Termoreth (meaning the Fords of Termos), which marks the western boundary between Rhusagos and the Far North.
Etymology
Khōrgos is a Classical Paternic name meaning “Riverland” (khōr + -(g)os).
The English name for this country is rendered Eamark, which means “river-frontier”. Ea is derived from the Old English eā, which translates as “river”, while the word mark refers to a border or frontier region.
