Blank

Barghests1, or Pigbears, are a scavenger species commonly found on the coasts and hills of western Patrinor. They’re about the height of a man’s elbows, and look something like wicked, predatory boars.
Barghest packs rarely attack Men, preferring instead to steal from their herds of sheep or flocks of chickens. However, a desperate pack can be extremely dangerous and cunning, and are known to steal into tents at night to catch their quarry unawares. A barghest’s bite is also likely to infect their victim, given their diet of rotting carrion.
The Classical Paternic word for barghest is tulsutor.

The barghests are inspired by the entelodonts of the late Eocene, though in the Wide World they are much smaller. They are meant to be an analogue of the spotted hyena. ↩
