At first, the idea of a Scholar roving from town to town with a band of adventurers might seem a bit odd, if not downright ridiculous. However, with all the dangers and wonders the Wide World has to offer, having someone around who knows something more than how to swing a big sword could be exceedingly useful under any number of circumstances. This is never more true than when a group is faced with something truly unknown: a riddle in a long-dead language, a strange temple in a distant land, or a slumbering evil roused once more.
