The Grid

All entities are arranged on a hexagonal grid. Each hexagon within the grid is referred to as a “node.”

Range Bands

The range bands on the grid are determined by the number of nodes between any two locations, designed to mirror the number of maneuvers used to traverse range bands in the vanilla ruleset.

ENGAGED

Engaged range is considered to be when two or more entities are within the same node.

SHORT

Short range is considered to span a distance of two or fewer nodes away from an entity.

Distance: 1 - 2 nodes

MEDIUM

Medium range is considered to span a distance between three and six nodes away from an entity.

Distance: 3 - 6 nodes

LONG

Long range is considered to span a distance between seven and ten nodes away from an entity.

Distance: 7 - 10 nodes

EXTREME

Extreme range is considered to be any distance greater than ten nodes away from an entity.

Distance: 11+ nodes

Movement

A maneuver can be expended to move up to two nodes of distance.

Difficult Terrain Nodes

Entities require two units of movement to enter or exit any node described as difficult terrain.

Engagements

Engagements occur when two or more entities in conflict are occupying the same node. All entities in nodes containing engagements are assigned movement penalties as though they are in difficult terrain nodes.
